Homes Team member Angela loves being an “ongoing part of the solution”

“I love knowing that I’m an ongoing part of the solution to our crisis of family homelessness” shares Homes Team member, Angela Bandlow.

Angela was inspired to become a Mary’s Place monthly donor when she learned about our work to prevent homelessness before families with children lose their housing. “I’ve known folks who’ve experienced homelessness. One found themselves living in a camper after their roommate unexpectedly moved out,” shares Angela. “I’ve seen how easily the loss of a home can happen to anyone, and how hard it is to get back into housing once you’ve been evicted and are in a hole financially and oftentimes emotionally. What I love about Mary’s Place is that you bridge the gap to help families stay in their homes and have programs to help families stay stably housed. I feel we all have a responsibility as a community to ensure our neighbors don’t sleep outside.”

Just as unexpected events like medical emergencies or loss of a job can happen to families, leaving them without a place to live, unexpected events like the COVID-19 pandemic can impact organizations working to address family homelessness. Every member of our Homes Team is an MVP when it comes to championing our work to end family homelessness! Their monthly donations ensure we have the resources to serve families year-round no matter the circumstances we may face!
